Picket fences are customizable, you can create essentially any pattern you desire; It can have spear tops, flat tops or even inverted arches across the entire length of your fence. Redwood Fence with Lattice
Another decorative style would be to install lattice on top of any new redwood fence. It features thick strips of redwood placed in various directions creating crisscross, square or privacy patterns.  Adding lattice to a fence can offer total privacy or help slightly obscure the view.

Shadowbox
A shadow box fence is constructed by placing the redwood fence boards at evenly spaced intervals on either side of the rails giving a mirrored appearance on both sides of the fence. This allows each neighbor to enjoy the beauty on both sides.
